St-Georges Eco-Mining Corp. has been served with a court application from a group of investors seeking the appointment of a receiver over the assets and undertaking of its wholly owned subsidiary, EVSX Corp.

The Ontario Superior Court of Justice scheduled a hearing for September 10, 2026, to consider the receivership request. St-Georges and EVSX are reviewing the legal materials with counsel and intend to vigorously oppose the relief sought, maintaining that a court-appointed receivership is neither necessary nor in the best interests of EVSX, its stakeholders, customers, employees, creditors, or shareholders.

The company stated that the allegations contained in the application remain unproven and are disputed, adding that it intends to place its evidence before the court at the appropriate time.

EVSX Corp. operates a battery recycling and processing plant located in Thorold, Ontario, featuring automated multi-chemistry processing lines designed to recover critical minerals and materials. EVSX remains a strategically important asset within the broader battery recycling and critical minerals platform maintained by St-Georges.

Despite the legal challenge, the subsidiary's ongoing restructuring and financing initiatives continue to advance. Management has been actively engaged in efforts to strengthen the capital structure, reduce liabilities, preserve key operating assets, and support the continued ramp-up of battery-processing operations. The company remains confident that these active restructuring and financing initiatives offer a better path forward for stakeholders than the appointment of a receiver.

Leadership continues to evaluate financing, strategic partnership, and operational alternatives designed to maximize long-term value for the platform. Mark Billings was appointed Interim CEO of EVSX Corp. in July 2026 following the conclusion of the previous executive consulting agreement, stepping in to lead the subsidiary through its current transition and oversee corporate affairs.
