Sumitomo Corporation has secured an effective economic interest in the Dos Amigos copper-gold project in northern Chile through a C$48 million investment in a private placement by Tintina Mines Limited.

The transaction was executed through a 50:50 special purpose vehicle funded jointly by Sumitomo Corporation and the G Mining Group. Through this vehicle, the partners subscribed to a portion of a larger C$91 million capital raise undertaken by Tintina.

Following the completion of the financing, the special purpose vehicle holds approximately a 25% equity interest in Tintina, providing Sumitomo Corporation with an effective economic interest of approximately 12.5% in the Dos Amigos project. The funds raised enabled Tintina to acquire additional ownership interests in the asset, resulting in the Canadian developer holding 100% ownership of the property. The remaining proceeds will be directed toward advancing the project toward a final investment decision.

The Dos Amigos deposit is located in the Atacama Region of Chile, approximately 130 kilometres northeast of La Serena. A Preliminary Economic Assessment completed in 2026 outlined an open-pit operation with a planned mine life of approximately 25 years. The study estimated measured and indicated mineral resources of approximately 101 million metric tons alongside inferred mineral resources of approximately 256 million metric tons.

Project planning targets a processing capacity of approximately 35,000 metric tons per day, with anticipated annual production of approximately 37,000 metric tons of copper and 57,000 ounces of gold. Total production over the projected mine life is estimated at approximately 900,000 metric tons of copper and 1.4 million ounces of gold.

The investment forms part of Sumitomo Corporation’s wider strategy to expand its upstream copper portfolio. The partnership with the G Mining Group was established specifically to target copper investments, utilizing G Mining Capital Inc., a business development platform operated jointly by Sumitomo Corporation and the Gignac family.
