Sun Summit Minerals Corp. (TSXV: SMN) has launched its 2026 field exploration program at the Theory project, located in the Toodoggone Mining District of north-central British Columbia. The company is advancing the 9,676-hectare property under an option agreement with Eagle Plains Resources Ltd. to earn up to a 100% interest. This year's work focuses on refining targets identified during the previous season to prepare for potential drill testing in 2027.

The current program consists of three primary phases. The first, a 476-line kilometer airborne MobileMT geophysical survey, is already complete. The company is currently awaiting final data, which will assist in imaging subsurface resistivity and identifying structural conduits for mineralization. The second phase, which is underway and scheduled to continue through September, involves geological mapping, prospecting, and systematic rock, soil, and silt geochemical sampling. A third phase will follow, featuring up to 22 line-kilometers of induced polarization surveys over specific high-priority areas, including the Bev and Saboteur zones.

To streamline logistics, the company is using its nearby JD Project as an operational hub. This site provides the necessary helicopter and logistical support to maintain crews in the field as they evaluate the project’s geological potential. Exploration efforts are being managed by TerraLogic Exploration Inc.

The 2026 campaign builds upon successful results from last year, which marked the first significant field activity on the property in decades. Findings from the 2025 program highlighted several zones of interest, including the Saboteur zone, where surface samples returned notable copper grades, and the Fred-DM-DMR zone. Petrographic analysis of samples from these areas identified alteration assemblages often associated with the inner shells of porphyry systems, suggesting a proximal mineral source.

The company remains focused on data interpretation to prioritize these targets. By integrating the newly acquired geophysical data with previous geochemical and mapping results, the technical team aims to establish a high-conviction list of candidates for future drilling. This structured approach allows the company to focus its resources on the most prospective parts of the large claim package.
