Sun Summit Minerals Corp. has launched a non-brokered private placement aiming to raise up to $4 million in gross proceeds to fund an expanded 2026 exploration program at its flagship JD Project in British Columbia’s Toodoggone gold-copper district.

The financing comprises a mix of charity flow-through common shares priced at $0.145 each and non-flow-through common shares at $0.10 apiece. The offering remains subject to customary closing conditions, including the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange. Eventus Capital Corp. has been appointed as a finder for the placement, and issued securities will be subject to a four-month hold period.

Proceeds from the raise will directly expand drilling across the company's portfolio. Sun Summit entered into a definitive option agreement in January 2024 to acquire a 100% interest in the JD Project. The current financing follows a larger $11.5 million private placement closed in December 2025, which featured charity flow-through shares priced at $0.14.

The expanded 2026 field schedule now targets 15,000 metres in total, up from earlier plans.

“We have nearly completed our 10,000-meter drill program at JD, well ahead of schedule and under budget - putting us in a great position heading into the back half of the season. Rather than step back, we want to keep the drills turning. We expect to drill an additional 2,000 metres beyond our original plan at Creek and Finn, and the proceeds of this offering will fund a further 3,000 metres at the Schmitt Zone - bringing the 2026 program to 15,000 metres in total.

The Schmitt Zone is located west of and contiguous to the Finn Zone within the 4.5-kilometer Creek-to-Finn corridor. This drill program is designed to evaluate mineralization continuity to the west of the Finn Zone, with the potential to add ounces to our inaugural MRE targeted for Q1 2027. We are grateful for the continued shareholder support that makes this possible.”

Beyond Sun Summit's operations, broader activity continues across the Toodoggone region. Evergold Corp. advanced diamond drilling at its Golden Lion project near JD, completing 1,400 metres across six holes at the GL1 zone in July 2026. Meanwhile, Amarc Resources increased its 2026 exploration budget for the Joy copper-gold district project to $20 million under a regional earn-in agreement with Freeport-McMoRan.
