Taiton Resources Limited has expanded the Challenger West gold-copper project in South Australia by entering into a binding farm-in agreement over Exploration Licence 6468 with Havilah Resources Ltd and lodging a new tenement application.

The agreement gives Taiton control over three tenement blocks that add prospective strike length in the Gawler Craton, proximal to Marmota Ltd's portfolio of gold deposits including the Greenewood Deposit. Historical exploration across the newly acquired ground between 1997 and 2003 included shallow vertical rotary air blast reconnaissance drilling and limited reverse circulation drilling, with no recorded exploration activity since 2003.

At the Endor Prospect within the licence area, historical drilling outlined broad zones of anomalous gold and copper mineralisation extending over a strike length of more than one kilometre. Significant historical intercepts include hole EN076, which returned 9 metres at 1.57 g/t gold and 0.53% copper from 33 metres, including a higher-grade interval of 4 metres at 3.34 g/t gold and 0.82% copper. Additional historical results returned up to 5.54 g/t gold and 1.40% copper with logged malachite. The mineralisation is interpreted to result from supergene enrichment processes, forming a broad envelope up to 100 metres wide in parts, with several historical holes ending in anomalous gold.

In addition to the farm-in agreement, Taiton has lodged tenement application ELA-01277, covering the ground between EL 6468 and EL 6785 to secure strategic ground in the Gawler Craton.

To advance the project toward near-term drill testing, Taiton has completed a reconnaissance Ultrafine soil sampling program comprising 372 samples across four priority target areas selected using historical gold anomalism, interpreted north-northeast trending structures, and elevated historic calcrete sampling results.

Assay results from the soil sampling program are expected within four to six weeks from the announcement.
