Talga Group Ltd has executed a non-binding letter of intent with German lithium-ion battery manufacturer EAS Batteries GmbH to establish a strategic supply of high-performance graphite anode material from the Vittangi Anode Project in Sweden.

The agreement establishes a structured pathway for product testing and qualification with the intent of progressing to a binding five-year supply agreement. Talga will supply its Talnode anode products to EAS for high-power lithium-ion cell manufacturing, backed by mutually agreed euro-denominated pricing and extension potential.

The arrangement is expressly non-binding, except for confidentiality and governing law provisions, and creates no formal obligation for either party to purchase or supply product, reserve capacity, or provide financing.

The companies have set a target of April 2027 to negotiate and agree a binding terms sheet, aiming to execute a definitive five-year supply agreement by July 2027. Construction of Talga’s commercial-scale anode plant in Sweden is targeted to commence in 2027 subject to final investment decision.

The latest agreement follows the signing of a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Fortum Battery Recycling Oy in September 2026 to evaluate the supply of recovered graphite for refining at the Vittangi Anode Project. While previous supply letters of intent, such as the agreement with Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, targeted a three-year supply term, the EAS Batteries arrangement targets a five-year definitive supply agreement.
