Targa Exploration Corp. has completed its Phase 2 diamond drill program at the Opinaca gold project in Quebec's James Bay region, drilling 4,317 metres across 10 holes with assay results pending.

The program followed up on a grassroots gold discovery made during the 2025 maiden campaign, which included an intercept of 13.88 g/t gold over 3.65 metres in hole 25OPDD007. The initial 2025 program completed 3,272 metres across eight holes, while the current phase expanded operations across the Western and Eastern targets.

Nine holes totaling 3,891 metres were drilled at the Western target to test along-strike continuity, while a single hole spanning 426 metres tested the Eastern target. The company shipped 3,598 drill core samples alongside 22 field mapping and prospecting samples to the Bureau Veritas laboratory in Timmins, Ontario. Assay results are expected by mid-November 2026.

“This is our first drill program back at Opinaca since announcing our grassroots gold discovery earlier this year,” commented Targa CEO, Cameron Tymstra. “This year's drill campaign focused on expanding on the 4km-long mineralized trend identified last year, gaining a better understanding of the factors controlling the gold mineralization, and testing additional targets. Opinaca is a large, complex gold system, and every drill hole brings us one step closer to finding the system's centre of mass. All drill core samples have been delivered to the lab for assay and we are looking forward to those results, currently expected in November. I would like to thank Kenorland's team who served as our Project Operator at Opinaca for a fourth season, and everyone involved in the project this year for completing a safe, smooth, and efficient campaign. While waiting for assays, petrographic and structural analysis work is being planned to compliment the drill results and help us prepare for the next phase of drilling at Opinaca, which can be conducted in both the summer and winter seasons.” — Cameron Tymstra, CEO

The Opinaca property serves as Targa's principal asset. While awaiting laboratory assays, the company has selected a representative suite of drill core samples for petrographic analysis and is engaging a structural geology specialist to review core logging. This technical work is intended to guide future drill targeting across both summer and winter operating seasons.
