TechGen Metals Secures Drill Rig for Maiden Blue Devil Program
TechGen Metals has secured a diamond drill rig from Terra Drilling to launch its maiden drilling campaign at the Blue Devil copper-gold project in Western Australia's Halls Creek Orogen.
Rig mobilisation is scheduled for 20 August 2026, with drilling to commence shortly afterwards. The program delivers the first direct subsurface test of the Blue Devil and Red Devil targets across the 195-square-kilometre project area, which comprises three exploration licences.
The Blue Devil prospect is defined by a 2.75-kilometre-long airborne electromagnetic conductor featuring three strong late-time conductors positioned about 150 metres above an interpreted magnetic intrusion. Surface geochemistry, including anomalous copper and gold values supported by key pathfinder elements, coincides with the geophysical anomalies.
“The time has come to test what's lying just a couple of hundred metres beneath the surface. Drilling targets have been built on multiple combination of factors and data sets. Historic explorers had identified the soil geochemistry, the geology in faults and gossans have been hanging around for quite some time now, and we've literally flown in with the latest technology, the missing piece of the puzzle and identified the Blue and Red Devil targets. With all data sets pointing to the same target locations, it's now just time to drill.”
— Ashley Hood, Managing Director
The Red Devil prospect features an induced polarisation chargeability anomaly reaching up to 35 millivolts per volt, located 175 to 225 metres below the surface with a 300-metre vertical thickness. Recent rock chip sampling at the prospect returned peak values of 52.3% copper and 5.35 g/t gold.
