Thistle Resources Inc. (TSXV: TRCG) has launched its 2026 trenching program at the Brunswick Antimony Project, located within the Bathurst Mining Camp in New Brunswick. This campaign marks a shift from the project's initial sampling phase toward active bedrock exposure. The primary objective is to clear terrain to better understand the granite-sediment contact zone that hosts the mineralization, ultimately providing the structural data required to guide a future maiden drill program.

The company recently collected ten samples from the first trench area, utilizing portable XRF analysis to assess mineralization styles ranging from disseminations and massive blebs to quartz-associated masses. These preliminary assessments returned 35.81% antimony in the highest-grade sample, with other results showing varying concentrations of copper, lead, zinc, and arsenic. All samples have since been sent to a commercial laboratory for official assay verification.

Thistle is managing a broader exploration portfolio in the region, focusing concurrently on its Middle River Gold Project. At Middle River, the company has reported 1.65 g/t gold over 20.71 metres and identified a seven-kilometre mineralized trend through recent geophysical surveys. The progress at both the Brunswick and Middle River sites represents the company's dual strategy to advance multiple discovery opportunities within the same district.

The current work at Brunswick follows initial project findings released in May 2026, which first confirmed the presence of high-grade antimony alongside significant silver and gold values. By completing these trenches and subsequent channel sampling, management aims to define the orientation of the contact zone. Establishing this structural control is expected to refine the efficiency of the planned drill holes by narrowing down the most prospective targets along the mineralized contact.

The company's stock closed at $0.16, up 3.23% on 20 July 2026. Management has indicated that the upcoming milestones for the Brunswick project throughout the remainder of 2026 include the completion of comprehensive trench mapping and channel sampling. Once this data is synthesized, the company intends to pivot toward its inaugural drill campaign to test the depth and lateral extent of the antimony system.

By physically uncovering the bedrock, the team hopes to confirm the geological continuity of the antimony-silver-gold system, which remains the primary focus of the site work this summer. The program is designed to provide the necessary physical evidence to support a more rigorous drilling strategy in the coming months, building on the geochemical data gathered earlier in the year. The company continues to monitor progress as it evaluates the broader potential of its Bathurst Mining Camp holdings. With geological similarities noted in the region, the team is prioritizing this site for its potential to deliver high-grade critical minerals alongside precious metal credits.
