Thunder Mountain Gold, Inc. has returned initial assay results from its 2026 diamond core drilling program at the South Mountain Project in southern Idaho, highlighted by drill hole SM26-057 intersecting 2.11 meters grading 451 g/t silver and 1.510 g/t gold.

The 8,500-foot exploration program tested the up-dip extension of the DMEA massive-sulfide chimney, returning broad silver-enriched intervals including hole SM26-055, which intercepted 22.47 meters grading 86 g/t silver, 0.105 g/t gold, 0.36% copper, and 0.52% zinc from 98.66 meters. Step-out drilling at the Kentucky Ridge target, located approximately 250 meters west of the resource area, intersected approximately 15 meters of intense gossan with down-plunge continuity of about 80 meters.

“This program accomplishes our goal which is to demonstrate that South Mountain has tremendous near-resource expansion potential while opening the door to larger district-scale discovery opportunities. The breadth of alteration and sulfide mineralization encountered in these first drill holes is a significant technical success for the Company. With most assays pending, and while drilling continues, we believe the 2026 program has greatly improved our understanding of the size and scale of the resource” — Eric T. Jones, President and Chief Executive Officer

The company awaits pending assay results from the ongoing drilling program for the Kentucky Ridge, Bay State, and Laxey Marble targets.

Thunder Mountain has advanced the South Mountain Project since 2007, investing approximately US$25 million and expanding its land position to approximately 13,061 acres. The exploration and related activities are funded by a non-brokered private placement that closed in August 2026, securing gross proceeds of US$5.66 million.

Operations at South Mountain remain unaffected by the Big Grass Fire that moved through Owyhee County in late July, which caused no damage to company structures or equipment and resulted in only temporary evacuation delays.
