Thunderstruck Secures $1.8M Private Placement and Mobilizes Crews for Liwa Drilling
Thunderstruck Resources Ltd. has completed construction of its exploration camp and access road at the high-grade Liwa Gold-Silver Project in Fiji, with the mobilization of its drilling contractor and technical services team now underway.
The 2026 exploration program at Liwa will include geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys, and an initial diamond drill campaign designed to test the project's epithermal and porphyry potential. The company expects to announce further details regarding the scope, timing, and objectives of the program once the exploration team is fully established at camp.
To fund these exploration activities and general working capital, Thunderstruck has arranged a non-brokered private placement of 12,020,967 common shares at a price of $0.15 per share for gross proceeds of $1,803,145.05, with no warrants attached. The placement is fully allocated between two parties: Zhaojin International Gold (Hong Kong) Limited, which will acquire 2,402,964 shares to maintain its 19.99% interest by exercising participation rights under a May 20, 2026 investor rights agreement; and Asia Pacific Group PTE Ltd, or its affiliates, which will acquire 9,618,003 shares to take an 18% holding in the company.
No finder's fees are payable on the placement, which remains subject to regulatory approvals, including acceptance by the TSX Venture Exchange.
In addition to the operational work at Liwa, Thunderstruck announced the renewals of Special Prospecting License 1425—which hosts the Liwa, Rama, and Nakoro prospects—and SPL 1416, which covers the Korokayiu VMS project. Following the conclusion of the Liwa exploration campaign, the company plans to initiate a late-year exploration program at Korokayiu, with further details to be released as plans are finalised.
