Tivan identifies new targets at Molyhil and Sandover
Tivan Limited (TVN) has concluded a significant geophysical survey program across its Northern Territory assets, the Molyhil Tungsten Project and the Sandover Fluorite Project. The company utilized a combination of high-resolution fixed-wing magnetic and radiometric surveys covering approximately 7,900 line-kilometres, alongside a detailed ground gravity survey consisting of 3,740 stations. These efforts have successfully produced a refined geophysical dataset, which the company is currently using to model and prioritize exploration targets.
The integration of these new datasets has pinpointed 10 high-priority areas of interest for follow-up work. At the flagship Molyhil project, the survey results successfully highlighted the geophysical signature of the existing tungsten deposit and identified several additional near-mine targets. Furthermore, the surveys provided improved structural definition for the fluorite vein systems at Sandover, including the manganese-barite gossan known as Walshy’s Wall. Two of the identified targets feature outcropping geology, which the company intends to evaluate through immediate geochemical reconnaissance. For the eight targets situated under cover, Tivan is proceeding with detailed geophysical modeling to better define the geometry and depth of these anomalies, creating a framework for subsequent geochemical sampling and potential reconnaissance drilling.
This exploration activity takes place as the company moves to advance the broader project development. Tivan is currently progressing a $50 million stage-gated investment structure for Molyhil with Sumitomo Corporation and ETFS Capital, a partnership aimed at supporting the project’s advancement. The data generated from these recent geophysical surveys will play a critical role in shaping the technical planning for the site as the company refines its development objectives.
By leveraging specialized consultants to manage the survey delivery and interpretation, the company has sought to enhance the reliability of its exploration framework. The new magnetic data specifically improves the resolution of magnetite-rich skarn mineralization, while the expanded ground gravity coverage provides the necessary density detail to distinguish potential target zones from the surrounding host rock. This combined technical approach is designed to reduce exploration risk across the broader tenement package.
