Torr Metals Advances Bertha North Porphyry Model with New Drill Results

Torr Metals Inc. (TMET) provided a positive technical update on its ongoing Phase II drill program at the Bertha North target, part of the 332 km² Kolos Copper-Gold Project in southern British Columbia. Initial drilling in hole 26-KO-01 reached a depth of 563 metres, intersecting a 142-metre interval of hydrothermal brecciation and multi-stage quartz-carbonate veining. These textures, combined with progressively intensifying sericitic alteration, indicate the presence of a sustained, long-lived mineralizing system. The results represent a significant step in refining the geological model for the target, which the company aims to link to a broader porphyry intrusive source.

Following the announcement, shares of the company rose 5.00% to close at $0.105 on July 22, 2026. The current findings advance the understanding established earlier this year. When the company first identified Bertha North in January 2026, it was a prospective geophysical concept; the latest drilling confirms that the subsurface reality matches the anticipated structural feeder system, effectively de-risking the broader geological hypothesis. The company continues to balance this British Columbia work with its 261 km² Filion Gold Project in northern Ontario as part of its dual-jurisdiction development strategy.

Geological logging and pXRF screening have identified successive hydrothermal events, with hematitic alteration persisting to the base of the hole. While laboratory assays are currently pending, the presence of chalcopyrite and chalcocite in local exposures supports the company’s interpretation of a major, structurally controlled plumbing system. This specific corridor of alteration and brecciation is spatially associated with the boundary between magnetic-resistive and chargeability anomalies, providing a concrete vector for the remaining 6,000-metre drill program.

The team is now integrating these observations to refine its site selection for the next phase of the program. Because the initial results confirm the presence of a robust, long-lived hydrothermal system, the company has increased its confidence in the targeting of the adjacent chargeability anomaly, which is interpreted to be the potential intrusive driver. As the Phase II drill program continues, shareholders can expect further updates regarding the geometry of the feeder system and the eventual release of laboratory assay data as results become available from the laboratory. The current campaign remains fully funded and focused on testing these primary targets, leveraging the structural preparation observed in the maiden drilling at Bertha North to narrow down the location of the central porphyry body.
