Trek Metals Hits 7m At 40.2% Manganese In Kuro Drilling

Trek Metals Limited has returned multiple shallow, high-grade manganese intercepts from the second batch of laboratory drill assays at the Kuro prospect, reinforcing the maiden reverse circulation program at the 100%-owned Christmas Creek Project in Western Australia's Kimberley region.

Out of 50 Phase 1 holes assayed to date, 28 have returned significant manganese intercepts exceeding 5% Mn, with 16 holes delivering averages above 20% Mn. The latest assay batch includes a standout intercept of 7m at 40.2% Mn from 7m in hole 26XCRC026, within a broader interval of 14m at 23.6% Mn from 6m down-hole.

Additional high-grade results from the program include 8m at 32.7% Mn from 3m in hole 26XCRC033, 6m at 39.0% Mn from 28m in hole 26XCRC028, and 4m at 38.6% Mn from 2m in hole 26XCRC041. Mineralisation intersected across the prospect remains near-surface, occurring entirely between surface and 37m down-hole, with an interpreted geometry trending from surface in the north-west and deepening to the south-east.

Laboratory analysis indicates the manganese is characterised by low iron and very low phosphorus content. Intercepts averaging at least 20% Mn returned 27.0% Mn at 3.28% Fe for an Mn to Fe ratio of 8.3 to 1, improving to 14.4 to 1 in composites above 30% Mn.

The 2,500m Phase 2 drilling program at Kuro has now commenced to target key induced polarisation anomalies, with remaining assay results from the Phase 1 drilling program expected within two to three weeks. In addition, the Christmas Creek Project encompasses the Martin Prospect, where previous drilling returned high-grade gold intercepts including 10m at 12.66g/t Au from 59m in hole 24XCRC097.
