Vertex Minerals reports progress at Reward Gold Mine
Vertex Minerals (VTX) has provided an operational update for the Hill End (Reward) gold project, highlighting a ramp-up in mining activity as it moves toward its October 2026 production targets. During June 2026, the company produced 84.8 ounces of gold and achieved a record 113 ounces in sales, generating $670,000 in gross revenue. Processing operations at the site’s gravity gold plant recorded an 81% recovery rate while treating lower-grade development material.
Management is focused on expanding underground capacity through the rehabilitation of multiple declines. At Decline 2, full-face development is set to commence for the first production block, including a new capital decline targeting the 600 Level. Meanwhile, at Decline 3, crews are preparing for a trial of long hole open stoping, with current work involving cable bolting and air-leg slot rising on the Mica 1 lens. These efforts are intended to support sustained production growth by establishing several active mining areas and development levels simultaneously.
To improve operational efficiency, the company is upgrading its equipment fleet. Modified rails have arrived for its jumbo drills, with a specialist arriving from Peru in July 2026 to oversee the installations. These upgrades are expected to facilitate smaller drive sizes, which the company anticipates will reduce ore dilution by more than 20%. Additionally, a second underground truck is currently in transit from South Africa to bolster haulage capabilities.
Looking ahead, the company expects further technical progress as the Muki long hole rig is scheduled for construction and preparation by mid-September 2026. This machinery will enable more precise blast hole drilling for mechanized stoping operations. Furthermore, the technical team is actively working on resource modelling reconciliations and reserve updates, with these assessments expected to be completed following the current reporting period as the company continues to advance its underground development program.
