Victory Metals Dispatches Heavy Rare Earth Concentrate to Offtake Partners
Victory Metals Limited (ASX: VTM) has commenced shipping heavy rare earth mineral concentrate from its Perth-based flotation pilot plant to potential offtake partners in Australia, Japan, and the United States. This logistical milestone follows the successful, continuous operation of the company’s pilot facility. The dispatch allows these international groups to conduct independent product examination, an essential step toward securing binding offtake agreements for the company’s flagship North Stanmore project.
"Our pilot plant has moved from a commissioning milestone to consistent, reliable operation, and that consistency is exactly what our preferred offtake partners want to see. Dispatching our heavy rare earth concentrate to these partners in Australia, Japan and the United States for their own independent examination is a significant commercial step our product is now being assessed by the very groups that need it most."
— Brendan Clark, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director
Victory Metals is currently focused on advancing North Stanmore as a future supplier of critical heavy rare earth elements, specifically targeting dysprosium, terbium, and yttrium. The company believes that providing independent verification of the concentrate’s grade and impurity profile is a pivotal commercial requirement for Western supply chains seeking non-Chinese sources of these critical materials.
In parallel with these testing programs, the company is refining its Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) following a geological reclassification of material at the site. Technical reviews revealed that a substantial volume of material previously logged as saprock is, in fact, saprolite—the primary ore type used in existing metallurgical test work. By incorporating this additional saprolite into the updated mine schedule and geological model, the company aims to strengthen the project's overall economic potential. This adjustment has pushed the expected completion date for the PFS to August 2026, a move the company describes as a value-driven decision to capture further economic benefits for shareholders.
