Viking Mines Confirms 4.1x Feed Grade in Linka Ore Sorting Assays

Viking Mines has returned final assay results from TOMRA X-ray Transmission ore sorting testwork at the Linka Tungsten Project in Nevada, confirming the technology can successfully separate mineralised feed into high-grade product streams and a low-grade waste stream.

The initial ore sorting testwork announced in June reported product mass splits with assay results pending, whereas the current release provides finalised assay grades of 1.91% WO3 for the Conquest Pit high-grade product and 1.83% WO3 for the Linka Stockpile high-grade product.

Assay results from the Conquest Pit sample, which had a calculated feed grade of 0.61% WO3, show that the high-grade product reached 3.1 times the feed grade and contained 27.3% of the tungsten within 8.8% of the total mass. Combining sorted products with unsorted fines delivered between 1.2 and 1.7 times the feed grade, achieving tungsten recoveries of up to 93.0%.

For the Linka Stockpile sample, which carried a calculated feed grade of 0.45% WO3, the high-grade product reached 4.1 times the feed grade. Reject streams across both samples graded approximately 0.2% WO3, demonstrating the capability of the X-ray Transmission platform to screen out waste material ahead of downstream processing and upgrade surface stockpiles to mill-feed grade.

Mineral Technologies previously completed an independent conceptual processing study for Linka outlining a 300,000 tonnes per annum modular processing plant design. Viking Mines is conducting ongoing gravity and flotation testwork on the sorted products at Base Met Labs to assess downstream circuit performance.

The work forms part of Viking's broader strategy for Linka, which aligns with U.S. defence supply chain requirements and a December 2026 deadline under the REEShore Act to remove Chinese tungsten material from military supply chains.
