Visionary Copper and Gold Mines Inc. has initiated a hyperspectral-guided historical core review and sampling program at its Pt. Leamington gold-copper-zinc-silver deposit in central Newfoundland, focusing on up to 2,000 metres of historical drill core.

The work follows an analysis of hyperspectral data and core photography collected from 48 historical drill holes. The review identified eight holes containing wide intervals of visible sulphide stringer mineralization within alteration signatures previously unsampled or incompletely sampled during historic exploration.

The core review program will proceed alongside Visionary's planned 20,000-metre Phase 2 diamond drilling campaign. The company cautioned that visible mineralization and hyperspectral alteration are exploration indicators only and no grade can be assigned until analytical results are received.

The strongest alteration is concentrated in the footwall of the massive sulphide system, where we also see copper-bearing stringer mineralization in the historical core and the newly discovered Kraken zone.”

Meanwhile, Canstar Resources reported drilling results from its Mary March project within the surrounding district on 27 August 2026, intersecting 15.6 metres of massive sulphide grading 2.3% copper equivalent, sharing key commodities with the Pt. Leamington deposit.
