Vista Gold Corp. has appointed Gavin Ferguson as Managing Director of Vista Gold Australia Pty Ltd, effective September 7, 2026. Ferguson will operate from the company’s new West Perth office, bringing more than 35 years of international mining experience spanning project execution, operations, and executive leadership.

Ferguson most recently served as General Manager of the Carlin Mining Complex for Nevada Gold Mines, where he oversaw five underground mines, three open pits, and five processing facilities producing approximately 1.4 million ounces of gold annually. His career includes senior leadership roles with Kinross Gold, K92 Mining, Teranga Gold, Newmont Mining, Anglo Platinum, Platinum Australia, and AngloGold Ashanti, with operational experience across South Africa, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Russia, West Africa, and North America.

Vista Gold appointed Jeff Dang as Executive General Manager of Projects and Technical Services in February 2026 as part of its ongoing program to transition project leadership to Australia. The company targets the commencement of detailed engineering and design for the Mt Todd gold project in 2027.

Management anticipates an approximately 27-month period encompassing detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning leading to first gold production following the 2027 start.
