Volta Metals Ltd. (VLTA) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire an 8.3-hectare mineral claim located immediately east of its Springer rare earth element and gallium deposit near Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. This strategic land acquisition secures approximately 250 meters of prospective strike length beyond the eastern boundary of the existing mineral resource estimate and the current open-pit shell. By bringing this ground into its portfolio, the company aims to facilitate the expansion of the known mineralized system.

The consideration for the acquisition involves the issuance of 600,000 common shares to an arm’s length vendor. The agreement also includes a 2% net smelter returns royalty on the claim, with the company maintaining an option to purchase half of this royalty for 500,000 Canadian dollars. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including necessary approval from the Canadian Securities Exchange.

Geological modeling of the deposit indicates that total rare earth oxide mineralization remains open along the eastern strike direction. Historical drilling conducted on the newly acquired ground previously identified mineralized intervals, including 0.54% total rare earth oxides over nearly 37 meters. While these historical results were not included in the existing resource estimate, the company plans to utilize this data to support future resource expansion. The company considers the newly acquired claim to be underexplored, offering potential for further resource growth as exploration efforts continue.

Looking ahead, the company is managing several technical milestones. Assay results from three 2026 drill holes currently testing the southeastern extension of the deposit are pending. Once received, these results are expected to be incorporated into the company's broader mineral envelope. Furthermore, the company anticipates that the addition of the newly acquired ground will contribute supplemental tonnage toward the next update of the mineral resource estimate for the project. These efforts reflect the company's ongoing technical focus on defining the full extent of the mineralization across its expanded land position near Sturgeon Falls.
