West African Resources Delivers A$437 Million NPAT For H1 2026

West African Resources Limited reported a net profit after tax of A$437 million for the first half of 2026, more than doubling the A$215 million recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
The financial result was underpinned by group revenue of A$1.46 billion and operating cash flow of A$690 million. West African Resources closed the half-year period with A$876 million in cash alongside 42,453 ounces of unsold gold bullion, bringing net assets to A$1.99 billion. Profit before tax reached A$684 million.
The period marked the company's first full six months of combined output from its two core gold production centres in Burkina Faso, Sanbrado and Kiaka. Group gold production expanded to 232,905 ounces at an all-in sustaining cost of US$1,823 per ounce, compared with 95,644 ounces at an AISC of US$1,374 per ounce in the first half of 2025. Gold sales for the recent half year totaled 214,883 ounces at a realised price of US$4,744 per ounce.

Alongside the financial results, the board declared a special unfranked dividend of 20 cents per share, aggregating to A$228.8 million. The dividend is scheduled to be paid on 7 October 2026 to shareholders on the register as of 18 September 2026. Management also stated an intention to accelerate debt repayments with secured lenders over the coming 12 months.
