West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. has released assay results from the first five holes of a 12-hole surface drilling program at the historic past-producing Starratt-Olsen Mine, located approximately 1.1 kilometres southwest of its 100% owned Madsen Mine in Northwestern Ontario.

The initial program comprises 4,100 metres of oriented HQ diameter diamond drilling designed to test the upper portions of the Starratt system from surface. Hole WRL26-054 intersected 1.5 metres grading 16.16 grams per tonne gold from 121.15 metres, including 0.85 metres at 24.60 grams per tonne gold from 121.15 metres. Hole WRL26-055 intersected 4.5 metres grading 5.16 grams per tonne gold from 114.0 metres, including a 1.5-metre interval grading 10.94 grams per tonne gold. Assay results for the remaining seven holes of the program are pending.

The past-producing Starratt-Olsen Mine is the second-largest historical gold producer on the Madsen property, having yielded approximately 164,000 ounces of gold between 1948 and 1956 at an average grade of 6.17 grams per tonne. The current work marks the first focused effort to drill test the main areas of historic mining at Starratt since operations ceased in the 1950s.

The company's operational pipeline includes the Madsen Mine in production, the Fork deposit advancing toward inclusion in the 2027 production profile with ramp development, and the Rowan property in the permitting stage. Meanwhile, plans are being prepared to access and rehabilitate the historic Madsen 16 Level exploration drift—situated at an 800-metre depth and extending within 200 metres of the main down-plunge extension at Starratt—to conduct geological mapping, sampling, and potential diamond drilling targeting the down-plunge extension of the ore shoot.
