Western Gold Exploration Completes 650 Metres of Diamond Drilling at Caledonian Project

Western Gold Exploration has completed approximately 650 metres of diamond drilling across four holes at Drill Pad 1 within the Caledonian Gold Project in central Scotland.
The drilling forms part of an initial programme comprising a minimum of eight diamond drill holes totalling at least 1,500 metres, targeting high-priority prospects within the Lyon licence area. Operations are utilizing NQ diameter core, with equipment mobilized by helicopter due to the steep and remote terrain through contractor Mineral Exploration Drilling Ltd.
Western Gold Exploration has now advanced drilling to Drill Pad 2 at the Creag Sheileach prospect. Prior to initiating the drilling campaign, field exploration across the project licence areas included rock-grab and drainage sampling that yielded outcrop grab samples of up to 64.9 grams per tonne gold and float samples of up to 252 grams per tonne gold. Company geologists continue to collect drainage, rock chip, and soil samples across the joint venture area on an ongoing basis.
The Caledonian Gold Project is held through the Glen Lyon Joint Venture, in which Western Gold Exploration holds a 90% interest and Acrux Gold holds a 10% interest. Acrux Gold owns the Cononish mine, Scotland's only producing gold and silver mine.
Initial core logging and assay results from Drill Pad 1 are anticipated in late Q3 2026, with full results from the diamond drilling programme expected through Q4 2026.
In a corporate update, John Thomson was appointed to the company's Audit Committee effective August 27, 2026, having joined the board on May 29, 2026. Thomson previously served as chief financial officer of Kirkland Lake Gold during its exploration investment and growth phase and is a resident of Scotland.
