Western Gold Resources Lifts Gold Duke Mineral Resource To 277,000 Ounces
Western Gold Resources Ltd has released its annual Mineral Resource Statement for the Gold Duke Project, reporting a total global resource of 4.84 million tonnes at 1.8 grams per tonne gold for 277,000 ounces as at 30 June 2026.
The updated inventory represents a 29% increase from the 214,000 ounces reported at 30 June 2025. The annual review also delivered a substantial lift in resource confidence, with Measured and Indicated categories increasing by approximately 44% to 104,000 ounces contained in 2.05 million tonnes at 1.6 grams per tonne gold.
The higher-confidence inventory follows the completion of 33,980 metres of close-spaced reverse circulation grade control and infill drilling across the project's Stage 1 deposits during 2025. This work resulted in Measured Resources rising sharply to 81,000 ounces across 1.6 million tonnes at 1.6 grams per tonne, compared with just 3,000 ounces previously. Indicated material stands at 453,000 tonnes at 1.6 grams per tonne for 23,000 ounces, while Inferred Resources total 2.79 million tonnes at 1.9 grams per tonne for 174,000 ounces.
“Importantly, 81koz is now classified as Measured, compared with just 3koz previously, reflecting the success of our 2025 drilling program and providing greater confidence for detailed mine planning and scheduling across the Stage 1 deposits.” — Cullum Winn, Managing Director
Western Gold Resources holds a 100% interest in the tenements comprising the Gold Duke Project through its wholly owned subsidiary Wiluna West Gold Pty Ltd.
The expanded and upgraded resource base now underpins the company's Expanded Scoping Study for the project. Western Gold Resources targets results from the study during the September 2026 quarter to update the 2025 technical evaluation, assess opportunities to expand the production target, and potentially extend the mine life at Gold Duke.
