Western Star Defines Two Tungsten Soil Anomalies At Rowland
Western Star Resources Inc. has defined two discrete tungsten-in-soil anomalies at its Rowland Tungsten Property in Elko County, Nevada, highlighted by a peak sample returning 0.53% WO₃ and 66.9 ppm tin.
The Phase 2 soil geochemical survey comprised 315 samples collected on lines spaced approximately 100 metres apart. The program identified two distinct target zones: the Rowland Main anomaly and the Northern Zone B anomaly.

Rowland Main spans an area of approximately 190 by 630 metres and contains 18 anomalous samples. The highest-grade sample in the survey, R079 at 4,240 ppm tungsten or 0.53% WO₃, was collected 250 metres from the nearest historical working on unrecorded ground. That sample also yielded 66.9 ppm tin against a survey median of 2.8 ppm, indicating a tungsten-tin association consistent with a greisen-modified skarn system.
Reflecting on the results, Blake Morgan stated, “Rowland Main is the larger footprint, and its best sample, 0.53% WO₃, lies 250 metres from the nearest historical working on ground with no recorded past activity. That is the part that interests us most: the strongest result came from ground nobody has tested.”
The Northern Zone B anomaly covers a 190 by 190-metre footprint with 13 anomalous samples, peaking at 228 ppm tungsten. This zone sits close to rock-chip samples that returned between 0.35% and 1.22% WO₃. The two anomalies occupy different geophysical settings, with Northern Zone B situated within a modelled intrusive body resolved by a three-dimensional magnetic inversion, while Rowland Main is associated with an interpreted magnetic-high lineament.
Western Star entered into an option agreement to acquire the Rowland property in November 2025 and has completed UAV magnetic surveys, 3D magnetic inversions, and soil programs. The company also holds the adjacent past-producing White Star project, creating an approximately six-kilometre prospective exploration corridor.
Exploration was supported by an oversubscribed private placement completed in May 2026, which raised $3,193,713 to fund exploration and drill programs.
Western Star plans to integrate the new soil geochemistry with completed geophysical data and prior assays to advance drill target generation across the Jarbidge–Charleston tungsten footprint. Meanwhile, soil geochemistry results from 253 samples collected at the White Star project remain pending and will be reported upon receipt.
