Western Star Resources has commenced its maiden field exploration and drill-planning program at the Eagle Point tungsten project in Hidalgo County, New Mexico, engaging Dahrouge Geological Consulting Ltd. to carry out mapping, sampling, and drill-collar ground truthing.

The program is designed to validate and refine the geological model, evaluate the extent of tungsten mineralization, and ground-truth proposed drill locations ahead of future drilling. Dahrouge’s scope includes detailed structural mapping, channel and grab sampling submitted to ALS Tucson, and the evaluation of areas surrounding proposed targets to identify expansion opportunities.

Eagle Point is a past-producing skarn system comprising 24 lode claims in the Granite Pass area of the Little Hatchet mining district. Historical records show approximately 1,800 tons of scheelite-bearing material were mined and shipped during 1943–44 at a basis of 0.48% tungsten trioxide. Historical USGS estimates outlined an approximate 170,000-ton mineralized system, comprising roughly 70,000 tons grading 0.40% tungsten trioxide and 100,000 tons grading 0.25% tungsten trioxide.

Nearby explorer Spartan Metals reported historic drilling validation results including 537 feet grading 0.23% tungsten trioxide equivalent at its Victorio tungsten-molybdenum project within the surrounding district in June 2026.

The project remains largely untested at depth and along strike by modern exploration. Historical work noted eight skarn bodies exposed across surface cuts, while drilling was restricted to a small number of shallow holes around the main open cut.

Dahrouge is scheduled to deliver a field summary and assessment report targeting completion during September 2026. The new field data will be integrated with the historical database to rank and refine targets for subsequent drill testing, subject to permitting, technical review, and financing.
