Westward Gold Hits 13.4 Metres at 6.55 g Au/t in Toiyabe Hills Trenching
Westward Gold has intersected 13.4 metres grading 6.55 g/t Au, nested within a broader 34.8-metre interval of 2.84 g/t Au, during trenching at the SSD Target within its Toiyabe Hills property in Nevada.
The 177-metre trench program successfully exposed bedrock in areas of poor outcrop, allowing the technical team to map previously obscured high-angle faults and lamprophyre dikes. These features are interpreted as critical structural controls on the gold mineralization system.
“I’ve been mapping this ground and re-logging historical drill holes for many years now, and this trench has been eye-opening in several regards. SSD has always been an enigma, very structurally complex and poorly understood in terms of controls on gold mineralization. Exposing bedrock over a significant distance has allowed us to properly characterize and measure the elusive (previously-buried) high-angle faults that likely represent a vital part of the plumbing system driving grade at SSD. Now, we’ll sharp-shoot the intersection of these high-angle structures and the flat-lying zone of deeper oxidation and deformation that Westward previously identified in the favourable Wenban Formation. It’s hard to come by a more compelling set of targets in Carlin-type exploration and we’re very excited to get holes down imminently.”

The data gathered from this program has been used to refine 3D structural models, resulting in the identification of new drill targets. The company expects to begin deeper testing at the SSD target with a reverse-circulation drill rig in the coming days. Additionally, assay results are pending for two previously completed core drill holes, T2601 and T2602, located proximal to the trench.
Shares in Westward are currently trading at $0.155, up 14.81% on August 4, 2026.
