Wildcat Resources Limited (WC8) has reported successful maiden metallurgical test work for its Bolt Cutter lithium discovery in Western Australia. The initial sighter program used three diamond core composites from the project’s stacked pegmatite system to evaluate recovery potential. By applying the processing flowsheet currently designed for the nearby Tabba Tabba project—which involves milling, magnetic separation, desliming, and flotation—the company achieved an average lithium recovery of 82.5% with an average product grade of 5.66% Li2O.

The test work identified spodumene as the primary lithium-bearing mineral, confirming the suitability of standard industry techniques. While the early-stage results demonstrate consistency, the company noted that small-scale laboratory performance often requires downward scaling when applied to full-scale operations. Initial modelling suggests that adjusting for lab-scale limitations may result in a minor reduction in recovery, though the current metallurgical signature remains encouraging for future project development.

Alongside the metallurgical findings, the company provided an update on recent exploration and infill drilling. Programs using two reverse circulation rigs have successfully expanded the mineralised footprint to approximately 2.3km by 0.8km. Recent intersections include notable results such as 7.1m at 1.3% Li2O from 20.8m depth in drill hole BCDD007. The deposit remains open in most directions, with geological assessments continuing to refine the structural interpretation of the northern extensions.

Looking ahead, the project remains a near-term focus for the exploration team. Resource modelling is currently underway to consolidate these findings, with official resource estimation and reporting scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2026. Furthermore, investors can expect additional data soon, as results from the remaining reverse circulation drilling assays are pending and expected to be reported later in the coming quarter.
