Ximen Mining Corp. is advancing site construction and preparation at the Kenville Gold Mine project near Nelson, British Columbia, following the conclusion of the pre-construction notice period for surface water-management drawings on September 1, 2026.

Immediate site activities include installing liners for flood retention ponds designed to manage stormwater during significant rain events, including a theoretical 200-year flood. Ximen expects liner installation to be completed by the end of September 2026, subject to normal site conditions.

The Kenville property holds deep roots in the region's mining history. The asset was the first recorded underground mine in British Columbia, having started production in 1890 and mined into the 1950s with historical production totaling 65,381 ounces of gold from 158,842 tonnes milled.

To support the current development phase, electrical power has been tied into the site, enabling preparations for construction. The building stabilization and inspection process for existing site structures, which was reported in June 2026 to be in its final stages, has now been completed with the company awaiting final reports. Ximen is organizing materials, equipment and a small crew currently in place to execute the upcoming work phases.

Following the initial site construction and water management work, and subject to remaining preconditions and permit conditions, Ximen is targeting the commencement of portal construction by the end of October 2026. The new portal and 1,200 metres of decline development are authorized under the existing Mines Act permit.
