Xpedra Resources Limited (ASX: XPD) has released the final assay results from its maiden reverse circulation drilling program at the Springfield gold project in New South Wales. The 27-hole program, totalling 2,579 metres, was designed to systematically test and extend gold mineralisation within the project’s 1.7-kilometre-long intrusion. These final data points confirm that the system is robust, hosting broad, shallow gold mineralisation with multiple higher-grade zones spanning over 400 metres of strike.

The latest results highlight the potential for depth extensions, notably in hole SFRC026, which returned 22 metres at 2.62g/t gold from 120 metres, including a 5-metre zone at 4.60g/t gold. This follows other significant intercepts previously reported from the program, such as the 94-metre intersection grading 2.00g/t gold in hole SFRC025. According to management, the consistency of these results across the maiden drill campaign provides strong evidence that the system remains open at depth, warranting further investigation.

Looking ahead, the explorer is now preparing for the next phase of development. The company is currently awaiting assay results from four additional deeper holes recently completed to evaluate down-dip depth extensions. Once these results are in hand, the team intends to finalise plans for a more extensive follow-up drilling campaign. This future work will have two primary objectives: systematically testing the northern 1.1 kilometres of the mineralised intrusion, which remains entirely untested by drilling, and conducting further targeted exploration to define the full extent of the gold system at depth and along strike.

The completion of the maiden program marks a pivotal point for the project, as the technical data gathered thus far confirms the geological continuity necessary to justify broader exploration. By combining the recent high-grade drill intercepts with historical surface sampling, the company aims to better understand the scale of the mineralised corridor. With the upcoming assays and the planned expansion of the drilling footprint, the focus is shifting toward proving the deposit’s long-term growth potential through more intensive site activity.
