Auriginal Mining Corp. has returned wide gold and copper intercepts from the Phase 1 diamond drilling program at its flagship Roger Project in the Chibougamau district of Quebec, highlighted by hole AUR-26-07, which intersected 125.3 metres grading 0.67 g/t gold from 346.0 metres downhole.

The standout intersection, which includes a 20.0-metre interval grading 1.94 g/t gold, extends the Roger mineralized zone by at least 125 metres at depth. The company holds a 100% interest in the project.

Phase 1 drilling totaled 7,325 metres across 10 completed holes. The program expanded the known porphyry-style footprint approximately 700 metres to the southwest and 400 metres to the northeast, while pushing the depth limits of mineralization down by more than 100 metres.

Higher in the system, hole AUR-26-06 cut 34.5 metres grading 0.69 g/t gold and 0.14% copper from just 70.5 metres downhole. Auriginal previously updated its geological model for the deposit to test for an overlying gold-rich volcanogenic massive sulphide horizon above the historical porphyry copper-gold mineralization. Deeper sampling in AUR-26-06 also returned high-grade intervals, including 50.4 g/t gold over 0.5 metres at a downhole depth of 572.7 metres, indicating that high-grade gold mineralization persists well below historical resource limits.

All reported intervals fall above the 0.2 g/t gold cut-off grade being applied to the updated Mineral Resource Estimate. Auriginal expects to deliver the revised resource estimate by October 2026.

Following the footprint expansion, the company has allocated an additional $2.0 million to a fully funded Phase 2 definition drill program. The 12-hole, 6,400-metre program is designed to provide sufficient drill density across the newly identified extensions to support potential inclusion in the upcoming resource calculations. The fourth hole of the Phase 2 campaign is currently underway.

“Drilling continues to support our view of a significantly expanded porphyry Cu-Au resource at Roger below and along strike from historical drilling on the property and has confirmed the presence of an overlying gold-rich VMS horizon,” said Peter Cashin, Auriginal Mining Corp's CEO. “We are seeing strong mineralization in all holes, which remains open below and to the southwest and northeast of the previous limits of Roger zone. Phase 2 drilling is well underway and is showing some of the strongest sulphide mineralization observed to date.”

Activity across the surrounding region has also seen active exploration, with Cygnus Metals Limited reporting drill results from the Chibougamau Copper-Gold Project within the district.
